Missed it at Necklace Road? Fret not, the craftspeople are here again. And you can't blame them; they're making out like bandits in this city. Hyderabad has a weakness for crafts fairs. And why not? Handicrafts are cheap, eco-friendly, unique and, more importantly, cheap.
This fortnight-long exhibition will feature handlooms, brass ware, jewellery, linen, bags, accessories, objects of art, and handicrafts from all over India. You must haggle to survive, but then so must they. So don't expect huge discounts. The prices, however, are usually reasonable. You'll find great bargains on dress-material and saris. It goes without saying the Crafts Mela will be partial to the female of the species.
