Sangeetha Ksheera Sagaram and Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha are conducting their monthly concert, on 26th July, at Kala Subba Rao Kala Vedika. The program starts at 6:30pm
The concert is being held in the memory of Uppalapati Ankaiah. The evening features a Carnatic vocal recital by R V Panduranga Sarma. Bhatti Pawan Singh on the violin, and Raghavendra Prasad on the mrindangam, will accompany the singer.
Panduranga Sarma learnt Carnatic music first from Mulukutla Sastry, and then from Puranam Purushottama Sastry. Till recently, he was undergoing an advanced training from the late D K Pattammal. Sarma has been performing since 2 decades now, and follows a sampradaya system of the kutcheri. He has performed at various sabhas of the country, winning appreciation from various vidwans and rasikas. He now works for the Indian Overseas Bank in Hyderabad, and also trains students in Carnatic vocal music.
