Rockscape artist Lata Marur is displaying her latest collection of drawings, in her 10th solo exhibition, at the WelcomArt Gallery at ITC. The drawings are on display at ITC from 25th to 26th July, from 11am to 7pm, and then, the exhibition will continue at Alliance Francaise, from 27th July to 31st July.
The exhibition will be inaugurated by Padmasri Jagdish Mittal, on 24th July, at 6:30pm. The hosts for the evening are George Verghese, General Manager of ITC Kakatiya Hyderabad and Frederick Dart, Director of the Alliance Francaise.
Lata Marur has captured some lesser known dimensions of the rocks of the Deccan, after years of exploring their strong side, their feminine side, their artistic side and their urban side. In this exhibition, she unveils the wild side of the rocks, their eroticism, in their shapes and postures.
Lata Marur was born in Nalgonda, Hyderabad. She specializes in translating images of rocks and rocky landscapes into a unique perspective of the Deccan. Nalgonda has been her major hunting ground for her subjects. Her self-taught style is reflective of her roots - raw and rustic. She is also keenly involved in the Save The Rocks movement.
On the professional front, Lata has been successfully running Heartworks, her own communications consultancy, for over 15 years. She is an MBA with a specialization in Human Resources, and a trained trainer, and imparts soft skills training to employees of leading national and multinational employers based out of Hyderabad.
The works are on display for everyone. Please contact 4008-1808 for further details.
