Kerala is best visited in the monsoons, but in times like these, your taking off to Kerala is sure to offend your employer. As well as Malgudi, who's hosting a Kerala food festival from 17th July to 26th July. The festival is on for dinner, from 7pm onwards everyday.
The menu includes Pachakari Rasam (veg soup), Khulanchi Rasam (crab soup) and Atkkal Rasam for starters. The main course consists of Chemmen Varuthathu, Karimeen Polithathu (pearl spot fish steamed in banana leaf), Aytameen Pathithathu (makreal fish), Avoli Fry, Muial (rabbit) Roast, Tarapu (duck) Roast, Kozhi (chicken) Fry. The vegetarian curries include Erichei, Panchkshari Stew, Pulichery (curd curry) and Puttu. The rice menu features Puzhangal Arichoru (boiled kerala rice), and for dessert, you could feast on Cheru Payar.
The in-house chef of Malgudi, with 6 years of experience in his kitty, is the force behind the delicacies of the festival. Prices start at Rs. 250 for non-vegetarian items and Rs. 200 for vegetarian items
