Hero Honda, in association with DNA Networks, is organising the South-Zone Regional round of the Campus Rock Idols competition, on 27th October, at Durgam Cheruvu. The headline act will be performed by Sceptre from Mumbai and Wreckage from Hyderabad.
Campus Rock Idols is an inter-college music competition, and is one of the biggest rock contests held every year in India. It is one event where college bands from across the country compete with each other, vying to be the best rock band in the country.
The competition begins at the city level, where college bands within the city and neighbouring areas compete. Winners from several cities compete to be the regional/zonal winner; and the best regional bands compete at the national level where the winner will be crowned Campus Rock Idol.
The regional rounds will be held at Bangalore and Hyderabad for the South Zone; Shillong & Kolkata for the East Zone; Jaipur & Chandigarh and Delhi for the North Zone; and Ahmedabad and Pune for the West Zone. The national finals will be on 2nd December at Delhi. Last year Shillong's Adroit was crowned the Campus Rock Idol. The South Zone winners were Public Issue from Bangalore, and History Makers from Hyderabad.
The high point of this contest is that the winning campus band will get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform alongside international rock icons who come to perform in India. In addition to the honor of playing alongside the great musicians, cash prizes will be awarded to the winners, including multimedia equipment for the college management of the winning bands.
The entry to the competition is by free passes available at Hero Honda and Motorola stores. Please call Ashwin at 099809-99984 for further details.
