A group of artists from Kolkata - Sanjoy Majumder, Indira Puri Mistry, Sarbani Ganguli and Biswarup Garai - are exhibiting their paintings from 23rd to 28th October. A total of 32 paintings are on display at the gallery.
Sanjoy Majumder's works are based on Veda, the ancient scriptures of Indian spritualism. It is about Third Eye, based on Hindu mythology and the scientific approach to describe our existence in this cosmic world. Sanjoy has participated in 15 solo and 27 group exhibitions in various art galleries of Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Bhubaneshwar, Pune, Noida and Bangladesh till date.
Indira Puri Mistry is a graduate in fine arts from the M S University, Baroda. She has held eight solo exhibitions, and participated in various art workshops and group shows. Her works are basically semi-abstract human faces on paper with water soluble pastels.
Sarbani Ganguli has a diploma in visual arts from the Rabindra Bharathi University. Her works are on women and nature. She was part of 4 solo shows and other group shows in Kolkata, Pune, Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi.
Biswarup Garai is a graduate in applied arts from the Indian College Of Arts & Craftsmanship, Kolkata. He was awarded the 1st prize in the All-Bengal Poster Competition on the Anti-AIDS campaign held by the West Bengal State AIDS Prevention & Control Society, in 2003. His works are a combination of light and dark colors, about rural men and women in their daily chores.
