Chitramayee - State Gallery Of Fine Arts is organising an exhibition of paintings called Captive Nature, by Srinuji, from 23rd to 29th October. A collection of about 30 paintings is on display.
Srinuji's paintings are based mostly on rural landscapes and lifestyles. The beauty of villages and scenic surroundings in the beautiful serene locations of Godavari and Konaseema have been aptly captured by the artist. Using water colors on paper, Srinuji has been able to bring a contrast effect to the paintings, with a melange of both bright and dark colors which shows his experience in this medium.
Srinuji has done his BFA in painting from JNTU, Hyderabad, during 1987-92. He was highly influenced by the landscape paintings of Pradeep Mullick and Chandra, and the painting skills of veteran artist Jagdish Mittal.
