The yearly treat of Punjabi food begins again at the Dhaba food festival. The organizers claim it to be the perfect blend of the rustic roadside Punjabi eatery environment and a five star perfection.
The set on location has been designed as a roadside dhaba with charpais and cane chairs, a pan shop, a puncture repair shop, and even a deep well. Except for the missing trucks and truckers, everything here resembles the typcial dhaba you see on the highways. You can live with that!
The starters on the menu offer Murg Tikka, Mutton Seekh Kebab, Baby Tandoori Chicken and Paya soup for the non-vegetarians. Paya soup is a preparation made of a goat's leg boiled with some masala. The starters for the vegetarians include Tandoor Aaloo, Paneer Tikka, Tawa Mushroom and more.
On to the main course - there is a wide variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. The non-vegetarian dishes include Dhaba Murg, Tali Machli and many more. For the vegetarians it is Mutter Paneer, Baigun Ka Bharta, Dhaba Mushroom, Missi Roti (a mix of bayson and wheat flour), Aaloo Maythee, Sarso'n Ka Saag, Makkay Ki Roti, Vadiya Chawal and many more.
The supporting items and dessert include mithai, jalaybee, kulfi, faluda, malpua, gulab jamun, rabri, lassi and dhaba chai.
