The YWCA-run summer camp is a fun and inexpensive camp for children of the twin cities. The objectives laid out by the Association promise to bring out the full potential of the camping children through creative and recreational activity. It also extends its benefits to working mothers by engaging the child in fun activities under watchful eyes, throughout the holiday season.
The camp is open for children up to the age of 13 years. The fee is Rs. 700 per camper. However, parents of children in the age group of 3 to 7 can opt for a half-day-camp for their kids at a discounted price of Rs. 400. The camp would be closed on every Sunday, the second Saturday of every month and on bank/state holidays.
Activities here include indoor games like craftwork, folk and Western music/dancing, painting, aerobics, yoga and more. The special attraction this year are the 'communication skill development sessions' - for kids from the age of 8 to 13 years. These sessions would also include creative writing, drama, story reading etc.
The rules laid down by the camp organizers ask for full attendance of the campers, and own arrangements for lunch, snacks, water, craftwork and painting material. Parents have to make arrangements for dropping and picking up their children. Working mothers can ask for extra camp hours for their kids for an additional charge of Rs. 100. Children would not be allowed to leave the camp without prior written permission from their parents. The children are also not supposed to carry any valuables and/or cash.
