A young man takes a journey on a cart through a jungle to reach a remote village called Bangarwadi. He is going there to join as a teacher. Bangarwadi is a village with many shepherds, some farmers and a few members of a criminal tribe known as the Ramoshis.
When the young man reaches the place at midday, a well-built shepherd confronts him. Though at first the young teacher is unnerved, he is at ease immediately when an old man as strong as the shepherd welcomes him. With the full support and encouragement of the shepherds of the village, a school comes up.
In the midst of nature and its splendor grow the joys of education and mutual harmony. But it does not last for long. A dry spell wreaks havoc. And one day the teacher is recalled by the government and given a new posting.
