Rock Street Journal is presenting the Kingfisher Pubrockfest 2007, a 7-city 30-gig rock festival which kicks off on the 15th of July at Turquoise Cottage, New Delhi. The concept of Pubrockfest was initiated by Rock Street Journal in 2005, when a humble beginning was made with a 4-gig festival featuring 12 bands in Delhi. Last year, the Pubrockfest grew to a 9-gig 7-band affair in the month of June, and was a runaway success.
Continuing with the tradition, this year, with the help of Kingfisher & Levi's, the festival grows out of Delhi and takes on the stature of a truly national festival, with six gigs each in Delhi & Mumbai, two in Hyderabad, and four each in Pune, Bangalore, Kolkata & Chennai. The festival will showcase a mix of established and emerging talent from India.
The Hyderabad leg of the tour features performances by Devoid, Blood Maze and Death Incarnate on 4th August at Firangi Paani and the next day at 10 Downing Street. Devoid and Blood Maze are Hyderabad-based new entrants to the rock scene, while Death Incarnate is a popular band, also from Hyderabad, formed in November 2006.
The members of Death Incarnate are Philip with the vocals, Abhishek and Ronald on the guitars, Raphael on the bass and Louis on the drums. Formed from the remnants of the Afterdeath band, this band has gained lots of experience playing in major cities of India. Its music is a blend of brutal death metal and melodic death metal genres. The band's influences are Cannibal Corpse, Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy, Six Feet Under, Obituary and some of the old school thrash metal bands. The band has two originals called Seven Sins And The Godly Wrath, and 31 Ways To Torture.
The entry to the rock fest is free. Please contact Rock Street Journal correspondent Jaideep Ghosh at 93924-81790 or the venue at 6657-0000 for further details.
