How many things can you handle at a time? 2, 3, 4? Any more, and you would consider yourself on par with a computer, right? What then would you think of a Satavadhani?
For the Telugu literary enthusiasts out there, the term should not be new. A Satavadhani is a man who handles 100 puzzles of language and other things at a time. It's out of the scope of this context to elaborate on that, but Ajanta Arts is an academy that has been started in the memory of two brothers (Srinivasa Sodarulu), both Satavadhanis, who expired in 1980. This is a 50-strong family group - descendents of the brothers - that organizes musical programs, and this is the third program since the inception of this organization in 2000.
This is a light music program - non-film/non-devotional - by the group, with 16 singers and 25 songs. The music has been composed by N C Murthy, the son of the second Satavadhani brother, and retired Deputy Director of the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology at Tarnaka. The orchestra has 4 persons handling the flute, the table, the keyboards and rhythm pads.
