The Hyderabad Art Gallery is organising an exhibition of paintings by Sayam Bharath Yadav titled Pastoral Inspiration, from 17th to 27th March, at the art gallery's premises in Shanti Nagar. Bharath is exhibiting 26 of his latest works at the exhibition.
For Yadav, the buffalo and the bull provide the inspiration to paint. Belonging to a community of pastoralists who are inseparably linked to their cows and buffaloes, Bharath has a fascination for them that is deeply linked to his childhood. As these animals were an integral part of his environment and sustenance, the relationship between him and the animals was emotional.
The metamorphosis he went through after losing his father suddenly, whereby the buffaloes had to be sold, touched him deeply. These emotions are attached with him even though he is far removed from the community today. Those fond memories are depicted through his works of art, with a spirit he gains from his past.
Bharath Yadav has done his BFA in painting from Sri Venkateswara College of Fine Arts, Hyderabad, and MFA in painting and printmaking from Sarojini Naidu School of Fine Arts, Performing Arts and Communications, University of Hyderabad. He received the Highly Commendable Certificate at the AIFACS Art Exhibition. He has exhibited his works in Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Munich.
