And you thought bank employees only cribbed about customers. Well, visiting this show would not do much to relieve you of the banal experiences at your bank, but not visiting it will definitely do a lot to coax you into undermining bank employees' avocations.
'Amritha Varshini' - a voluntary association of eleven bank employees - stages a musical event once every month at one of the popular cultural venues in the city. The show is purely filmi - as the name suggests, the employees pre-decide their songs (from K L Saigal to Ghantasala to S P Balasubramaniam and the rest of the contemporary crooners) and render it onstage, with an orchestra supplementing their voices.
This could be a good platform for singers wanting to showcase their talent, as anyone with decent enough vocal cords will be given a chance for free. So try getting onstage with the mike in your hands, or at least use them to applaud the ones who already have.
