Even the things that we most don't want to end do, and we're not talking of
the intervals of most Telugu films. What's hurtling towards an end is a month-long
extravaganza of classical arts. And it's going in style, too.
Chaitanya Art Theaters is a social and cultural organization that was established
in 1984 to stand as a symbol of quality and to conduct programs to encourage
thousands of amateur artists in Andhra Pradesh. For the past 18 years, the organization
has conducted several cultural functions to protect and promote Indian culture
and heritage. It has established records in organizing cultural functions for
several days at a stretch, and at several theaters on the same day in Hyderabad.
And it keeps breaking its own records …like it is now.
From the 1st of January to the end of the month, the organization is conducting
various cultural programs and is also felicitating prominent personalities from
various cultural domains. The program schedule for today is as follows:
6:30pm: Felicitation to V Nagaraju and Palakurti Ramachandra Sharma
6:30pm - 7:20pm:
- Guitar and keyboard by Kalyan Chakravarthi and troupe
- Jati Vinyasam by Chaitanya, Kalicharan, Swetha, Akhila, Bhavani, Sneha, Sridevi,
Roopa and Eishwarya
- Carnatic music by Y Srinivasulu
- Tabla concert by the students of Bala Bhavan (monitored by B Brahmaiah)
8pm - 9pm:
Flute concert by Nagaraju and Talavadya concert by Sharma
S Chandra Mohan Reddy, Minister for Information and Public Relations, will preside
