V L N Chariar is a well-known personality in cultural circles. He has been in this field since 1952, and has been conferred upon the title of Raaga Visleshana Visharada by Dr C Narayana Reddy in 2002 for completing 50 years of music composing. The uniqueness about him is that he organises musical nites based on classical music ragas. He trains singers to sing a particular song in different ragas.
