The second match at Hyderabad of IPL will happen at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium today, between Deccan Chargers and Rajasthan Royals, and will be held on 24th April from 8pm.
A lot was expected of the mighty Deccan Chargers in their matches against Kolkata Knight Riders and against Delhi Daredevils, but they disappointed by losing both. Rajasthan Royals, however, even though they started sluggishly in their opening match against the Delhi Daredevils losing rather heavily, bounced back in their second match against Punjab Kings XI.
Deccan Chargers is still one of the strongest teams of the IPL, though, captained by the prolific Indian test batsman V V S Laxman (this is his big chance to show the world that he can manage strike rates, too), and the team has big international stars such as the Australian big-hitters Adam Gilchrist and Andrew Symonds, South African opener Herschelle Gibbs, Pakistani dynamite Shahid Afridi, New Zealand allrounder Scott Styris, Sri Lankan pacers Chaminda Vaas, Nuwan Zoysa, and the reliable Chamara Silva.
The team also consists of Indian youngsters and seniors, such as Rohit Sharma, Pragyan Ojha, Dwaraka Ravi Teja, P Vijaykumar, D Kalyan Krishna, Halhadar Das, N Sarveesh Kumar, Arjun Yadav, Venugopal Rao and Sanjay Bangar. Robin Singh is the coach of the outfit.
Rajasthan Royals is headed by the spin legend Shane Warne. It also contains a mix of both experienced players such as Darren Lehmann, Shane watson, Kamran Akmal and Mohammad Kaif, and youngsters such as Ravindra Jadeja, Aditya Angle, Swapnil Asnodkar, Sumit Khatri, Taruwar Kohli, Parag More, Pankaj Singh, Munaf Patel, Niraj Patel, Yusuf Pathan, Mahesh Rawat, Anup Revandkar, Dinesh Salunkhe, Jaydev Shah and Siddharth Trivedi.
