This Sunday, as part of weekly program of music, Shilparamam is presenting a Carnatic vocal recital by Ch D V S Lakshmi. With S Ramana on the mridangam and Achyuta Kumar on the violin, Lakshmi will start the recital with a Gajanana in Todi ragam, followed by some Annamacharya and other keertanas, like Himachala Tanaya in Ananda Bhairavi ragam, Chandamama Ravo in Chakravaka ragam, Chalada Harinama in Hamsadhwani, and Tarakka Bimdhige in Misra Tilang ragam.
Lakshmi has done her certificate course in Carnatic vocal from Sri Thyagaraja Government College of Music. She has learnt music from various teachers, starting from her mother Bala Suryavalli to others like T P Chakrapani, Savithri Annaji Rao and N Ravi Shankar. She has performed at various venues in Vijayawada and Hyderabad. Currently, she teaches music to various students.
