As part of SICA's 42nd Annual Festival of Music and Dance, eminent danseuse Srinidhi Chidambaram will perform during the sixth day of the festival.
Srinidhi started donning the anklet bells at the age of three, and has given over 300 performances in all the important art centers in the country - with the distinction of being the youngest artiste to perform at the First Natya Kala Conference. Other landmark performances include those at the:
- Sangeet Natak Akademi's Yuva Utsav at Simla
- Ghungroo Festival at Bhopal
- Shanmukhananda Sabha at Bombay
- De'jure Festival at Pondicherry
- Chidambaram Natyanjali Festival
- Khajuraho Festival
- Inaugural function of the South Zone Cultural Center at Thiruvayur
Trained under the renowned guru Kalaimamani Swamimalai S K Rajarathnam, Srinidhi follows the Vazhuvoor style of Bharatnatyam. She has been the youngest recipient of the highest award of the state of Tamil Nadu for artists - Kalaimamani. Some of the other awards she received are Nadanamamani from Karthik Fine Arts, the Yuvakala Bharati award, the Dr M G R Award from the Music Academy, the Balasaraswati Memorial Award, the Rotary Youth Merit Award, the Best Child Talent Award in the International Year of the Child etc.
Srinidhi is a medical graduate from the Madras Medical College with a post-graduate degree in Public Health and Preventive Medicine.
