Bhaavanalaya Sri Vaishnavi Institute Of Music And Dance refreshes its vitality on its 15th anniversary with an explosion of classical vocals and dance shows. The institute was founded by V Y Acharya, who initially practised homeopathy, but then followed his passion for music. In the process, he got a doctorate in folk music, and later even tried his hand classical dance.
The institute was founded in 1991, with its first branch in Trimulgherry, and slowly grew in size to a total of 6 branches. 35 of his students were selected in the diploma exam conducted by the Potti Sree Ramulu University.
This institute is now celebrating its 15th anniversary, with a host of Carnatic music and Kuchipudi dance shows, each lasting for an hour.
Lipsika Bhashyam will be performing the Carnatic vocals, and the Kuchipudi dances will be performed by Sirisha, Priyanka, Soujanya, Srilaja, Leela Satyakumar, Anjana Thomas, Keerthana, Sushma and Suguna. Incidentally, Suguna is from the US and was awarded a certificate of appreciation by George Bush for her dance.
The items that are to be performed are Atharvana Seersham, Muthuswamy Keerthana, Annamacharya Keerthana, Dashavatara and Narayana Theertha Tharangam.
The chief guests for the evening will be Indira Shashidhar Reddy, and the special guest, the renowned dancer Nataraja Ramakrishna. Other VIPs include Mangala Narasimha Murthy Swamiji, Bandari Srinivas, C Ramakotayya (VSR Constructions) and V Babu Rao (President, Youth Congress).
