Vedavyasudu is a dance drama. It presents the life history of saint Vyasa to us. He was born to Satyavathi and king Dasa. Immediately after his brith, he took to penance, and went to forest. He returned several years later, and married Ambika, Ambalika, and Ghrutanchi, and gives birth to Dhrutarastra, Panduraju, and Vidura respectively. He translated vedas into stories and upanishats, that helped common men. He divided and described vedas in detail. The word 'Veda' was prefixed to his name by people, as mark of respect to his knowledge, and thereafter he was called Vedavyasa. He wrote Mahabharatha, and invented Bhagavatgita from it. He is quite popular till date.
