Brahmasri Malladi Chandrasekhara Reddy is a well-recognized face at Ugadi events. This 80 year old multiple-awardee has people crowding out each other to get an earful of his delightfully recounted Pouranic discourses.
You know he is the authority, given the number of books he has authored on the Vedas and the Puranas. Some of his writings are Mahabharatam - Sookshma Darsini, Sri Ramayana Rahasya Darsini, Krishnalahari and Aarya Satakam.
On Ugadi, he is brilliant at his Panchanga Sravanams, which he tangs-up with humorous anecdotes. Then there are his discourses on Ramayana and Mahabharata that are engrossing, to say the least. He is also known as Abhinava Vyasa for his work.
Chandrasekhara Sastry is originally from Guntur and learnt his Sanskrit, Telugu and Sastra Prakaranas at an early age. His grandfather Malladi Ramakrishna Vidwat Chayanulu was an equally erudite man who taught him. Among his many awards are the the title of Savyasachi by the Sri Sringeri Sankara Mutt, Eminent Citizens Award by the Sanathana Dharma Trust and the Sri Raja Lakshmi Foundation Award.
