Kids, like we've been shouting ourselves hoarse now, there are lots of things happening this month for you. It's a little coincidental that the UN Day celebrations are happening in the same month as Children's Day, and that the Andhra Balananda Sangham's annual festival runs through this month, but these just mean more events for you.
So what's this one about? In case you do not know this (now you really should), the United Nations was formed to facilitate global peace after the Second World War ended in 1945 with 2 Japanese cities getting destroyed, thanks to what is today known as 'nuking' (that's getting bombed by a nuclear weapon). Since then, the organization has been playing an important role in resolving global conflicts. There are people who say that it doesn't have as much clout these days as it used to, but it is striving to play its role nevertheless.
As part of the UN Day celebrations, the local UN branch, in association with several local educational institutions, is organizing a whole lot of competitions for you. Here's the entire list, so make sure you are there in as many as possible!
