Udaan is presenting a Hindi thriller 'The Trap', on 29th August, at the Bhaskara Auditorium.
The play has been directed by Sunil Chandurkar, and casts Suresh Kumar, Prajakta Phansalkar, Pallavi Verma and Saurabh Krishna.
The story revolves around a well-known yesteryear filmmaker, writer and actor, who is now in his late '40s, trying to re-establish himself once again in the film industry. With an ailing wife who was also a well-known actress and singer and now sitting at home due to a heart ailment, the filmmaker accepts a job of professor and trainer in a film institute, to take care of his house and his wife's medical expenses.
At the institute, he finds one of his favorite students scripting a potential story for making a new movie which could bring a lot of success. He invites the student to his house for a discussion, and, on arrival, tries to take over his script in a planned manner. How does he do it? Will he succeed? Does he intend to harm the student?
Udaan, an organisation dedicated to theatre, was founded by Saurabh Gharipurikar in Hyderabad on 12th December 2001. It has 2 wings - Udaan Performing Arts and Udaan Education.
Udaan regularly organises various workshops for those interested in theatre. It has presented 4 workshop-oriented productions so far - April Fool, Freestyle Gawahi, Nithalle, and Waat Pahato Premachi. Its recent production was a result of the children's theatre workshop production, Handle With Care.
