If you are looking to develop a massive inferiority complex, we know just the place. Kaanala Sriharsha Chakravarthi, 13 years old and studying in 9th standard, is tackling a unique Dwigunitha Ganitha Ashtavadhanam ("Ganitha Khagola Saastraalalo Record Break Program"). What, what, what? If you're one of us, then your parents didn't really do a good job of teaching you your mother tongue, did they? That literally translates to "twice mathematical tackling-8-problems-at-a-time".
This lad will have 16 professors of Maths from different universities pose questions that he will answer - now note this - faster than a computer can. The way it goes is, the guys will keep asking continuously, and the lad will be answering in practically no time at all. You are also welcome to ask the toughest question you know if you want to risk hardening the pain to yourself.
In his brief existence thus far, Sriharsha has had 17 felicitations and 14 titles conferred upon him, and the honorers include IIT Mumbai, BARC, TIFR, the SCOPE research centers, several engineering colleges and more than several Heads of Departments of Math in universities across the country. What's more, on the 26th and 27th of June in Tirupati, under the aegis of the Sri Venkateswara University, Sriharsha is going to a Satavadhanam - that's 100 in place of the 16 here. And then he's going to go for the Guinness. See, we told you about the complex thing.
The Telugu University VC N Gopi will attend, along with other VIPs. Please contact L Janaki Ramaiah at 373-0190 for further details.
