Once upon a time a lonely dog decided to adopt a retired Russian general. The General names the dog Bonaparte in honour of his former enemy. Clever Bonaparte notices that the kindly General has a problem - earlier events during his great battle with Napoleon have caused all the birds to be furiously angry with him. It is faithful Bonaparte, the dog who comes up with an amazing idea to make peace between the birds and humans - but it is a dangerous plan which risks the lives of all the dogs in St. Petersburg. He rounds up all the dogs of the city to stage a climactic canine sit-in on the frozen river, demanding the freedom of all the birds of St. Petersburg! It's a risky mission, as the river might thaw before they get their wish. Can the General come to rescue in what will be his most noble battle? A touching, poetic adventure the history books seem to have forgotten....
