"Telugu Tota Lalita Geetalu" - that's a garden full of native Telugu songs! And so the language and its literature were emphasized and eulogized before each rendering by the singers. Veteran literary scholars like M Nagaphani Sarma, Director of the Dept of Culture, Boyina Venkateswara Rao and the Director of Rasamai, Venkataswamy, elaborated the importance of the language and its music. And the song "Yenta Chakkanidoyi Ee Telugu Tota" was rendered to suit the mood of all Telugu patriots.
Great compositions of Arudra, Athreya, Devullapally, C Narayana Reddy, Kotta Raju and others who have explored the language and its situation themes in their poetry for cinema songs, emerged on stage to delight the jam-packed audience. The swinging song "Eruvaka Sagaroranno Chinnana" by Mohan Raju and Mitra remained the most appreciated melody of the evening. The other singers were Vijaya, Surekha, Sesikala, Prabhakar, Vinod, Siva Prasad and Bala Krishna.
