It's the Tata Crucible. Need we say more? Oh yes - Rs. 2 lakhs for the winner. Need we say any more?
The Tata group is conducting the national-level annual Tata Crucible Campus Quiz, on 20th March, at the RNR auditorium, MLA Colony, Road No. 12, Opp. Lotus Pond.
The Tata Crucible Quiz is a team-based contest (2 participants per team), and is held in 3 parts. 2 back-to-back tracks, separately for Tata Corporates and Non-Tata Corporates, are held in June-July each year. They consist of regional rounds in 8 cities, and are followed by the National Finals. The 3rd track is held for students in February/March of each year, also with 8 regional rounds followed by a National Final.
Each team should comprise of 2 members from the same institution. The theme for the Tata Crucible Campus Quiz 2010 revolves round cricket, and this year, there will be a new format based on 20:20 quizzing (a concept introduced by Greycaps at Tata Crucible a couple of years ago).
There are cash prizes to be won - the regional winner pockets Rs. 60,000 and the runner-up gets Rs. 30,000, while the National Final winner bags Rs. 2,00,000 along with the Tata Crucible Trophy. Apart from the above cash prizes, there will be several other prizes for the finalists and audiences at each city. Last year, the National Final was won by IIM Kolkata.
Noted quizmaster Giri Balasubramaniam, popularly known as Pickbrain, will host the show. Giri holds 7 Limca records for quizzing achievements, and has hosted more than 850 shows across 45 places in India. He has also hosted quiz shows in USA, Sri Lanka and the Middle East.
Tata Crucible was started in 2004, a year which was christened as the Century Of Trust year to commemorate the death centenary of the founder of the group, J N Tata, and the birth centenaries of 2 of its illustrious leaders, J R D Tata and Naval H Tata. It generated a huge response as a high quality business quiz in the very first year, and has now become an annual event. In a commissioned research, Tata Crucible Campus Quiz has been judged the highest-rated ground quiz by the students of participating colleges.
