This Kuchipudi style dance-drama directed and choreographed by Usha Gayatri revolves around the glory of India in both the pre- and the post-Independence times. Successfully staged for the past five years with two highly-acclaimed performances in our very own Hyderabad, it has been written by B N Murthy, a distinguished and successful playwright.
The prominent role of Bharat Mata is being played by the director Usha Gayatri herself. A student of legends like the late Vedantam Jagannadha Sarma and the late Yelleswarapu Surya Prakasa Sarma, Gayatri has been taught to be a disciplined Kuchipudi dancer. Though she has performed extensively both in India and abroad earlier, she has now settled as a guru teaching young budding artistes at her dance school 'Nritya Kinnera'.
The event is being organized by the Kinnera Arts Theater, which has just had its own anniversary celebrations. Please contact Raghuram at 761-4809 for further details.
