The exhilarating summer break, very soon, begets boredom, leaving children clamoring for "something to do" and parents turning somewhat desperate. There's one way to beat the blues - dance them away. The workshop for folk dance ensures a delightful learning experience.
Dance mistress Sheela Ramani has some lively folk dances up her sleeve. The rhythmic click of the dandia sticks beating each other is sure to keep the kids busy. The Koya of Nizamabad district and Haryanvi dance are some of the other dances that will keep the kids on their toes. The colourful Lambari of the nomad tribes of Andhra is sure to have everyone gambolling like crazy.
The workshop is open to children between the ages of 6 and 14 years. It starts at 10.30 am and carries on for two hours. The fee is Rs. 1000 per head.
