The Advantage Tennis Academy is organising the State Ranking Under-12 & Under-14 Tennis Tournament, from 27th to 30th December, at the St. Thomas Sports Coaching Academy in St. Thomas School, Safilguda. Matches will be held for both boys and girls, in the singles and in the doubles categories.
It is a tournament which usually attracts lots of entries from all the state, but this year, because of the disturbances in the city, there have been very few entries, due to which the qualifying matches have been scrapped and all participants directly enter the main draw. The first and second round will happen on the first and the second day respectively, and the semifinals and finals on the final day.
The matches will all be played on the 8 clay courts of the Academy, and the scoring will be best of 3 mini-sets with no advantage system. All players in the main draw will get participation certificates and also be awarded with the valuable points that are bound to boost their rankings. The finalists and the semifinalists will receive the St. Thomas winners and runners-up trophies respectively.
