Stark Strokes - Paintings By Shakthidass

Gallery Space is presenting an art collection by Shakthidass. The exhibition, inaugurated on 11th July by Tollywood personalities Rajashekar and Jeevitha Rajashekar, is on until 18th July, from 11am to 7pm everyday.



The collection features religious scenes and characters depicted through conventional sketches and acrylics, as well as unconventional ones. The inherent energy in the paintings draws heavily from the Expressionist movement.



Shakthidass was born in Palakollu in 1948 and completed his Bachelors of Art from Andhra University. He worked as a freelance artist (wrapper artist) for Chandamama Publications since 1975. He has 40 years of experience in the field of art. He worked on wrappers and story board illustration right from 1973, for many publications, inlcuding Chandamama, Rotary News, Bommarillu, MVS Novels, Balabharathi, Rishi Peettam, Bujjai, Chinnari, Balamitra, Vijaya Publications and Oriya Vijay. Expressionism and Cubism are his styles of painting. He currently lives and works in Hyderabad.
