Solarcon India 2009 is a conference and exhibition being organised at HICC, from 9th to 11th November. The event will start at 9am daily.
SOLARCON India, in association with Intersolar India, is a premier regional event of the solar Photo Voltaics (PV) industry. It brings together stakeholders from the entire PV industry eco-system - including from the fields of materials and equipment, cell and module manufacturing, balance of systems, and integrators; the financial community; policy makers; NGOs representing the end-use perspective; and service providers.
The 3-day conference will feature discussions about the latest solar/PV business and technology trends, the huge opportunity in India, challenges, and emerging solutions.
PV markets, climate change, policy, finance, key applications for India, standards, Environment Health & Safety (EHS), balance of system and projects, planning and implementation are the topics that will be addressed.
The inaugural keynote speech will be made by Dr. Eicke Weber of Fraunhofer ISE on 9th November, at 10am. This will be followed by talks by industry leaders from Tata BP Solar, Moser Baer PV, Solar Semiconductor, TERI, SustainAbility, Energy & Climate Program WWF India, and SEMI (representing US EPA programs on Climate Change).
There will be a talk on "The India PV Opportunity And World PV Markets" by Dr. Charlie Gay (President, Applied Materials - Solar Learn) on 10th November. On the 11th, participants will get to learn how India is preparing to face the opportunities in solar energy, at the session titled "PV Project Planning & Implementation - Issues, Challenges & Solutions".
