REVIEW FOR SLEDGE UNPLUGGED
The thirsty rock music lovers of Hyderabad can now drown in some pure unadulterated rock music when the screaming guitars, roaring vocals and thundering beats will set the stage for the launch of the debut album "Desert Of Souls" of Hyderabad's very own band SLEDGE.
Sledge, the winners of Garage Rock '03 and runners up at NSIT & IIT Delhi, were formed in 1998 when a group of students decided to get together to bring death and heavy metal back into prominence. They succeeded in their efforts when they were recognized in IIT Delhi for the first time, where they ended up as runners-up.
From then on they have been consistently winning competitions all around the country, and in 2003 they peaked, winning the Garage Rock contest, bagging all the prizes up for grabs - Best Vocals, Best Lead Guitarist, Best Bassist and Best Drummer.
The band consists of five die-hard rock fans who are influenced not only to the extent to which music can take over an individual, but also towards the attitude of life and its perceptions. Sledge admits to deep influences by heavymetal monoliths like Sepultura, Slayer, Pantera, Megadeth and Metallica.

Anjani - Bass
Shadrach - Lead Guitar
Suman - Drums
Karna - Lead Guitar
The opening act of the release will be done by an upcoming band from Hyderabad - Legacy. A thundering jam session by Sledge where each member displays his repertoire of talents follows. Sledge will also perform all their songs, apart from some of the all-time great covers that, according to the band, are the real inspirations that lead them to where they are now.
