REVIEW FOR SANGEET UTSAV
It's time to bury that remote-control - no, not if you are into V TV - but for the rest of the humanity, a live mega show, is reason enough.
In memory of Uppalapati Ankaiah, the Sangeetha Ksheera Sagaram is organizing a grand cultural festival featuring music maestros from all over the country.
On the 31st of August, the program will commence with the felicitation of Nidamanuri Lakshmi Narayana, for his expertise with the dhol. This will be followed by some dazzling performances by Swarajya Lakshmi (vocal), Peri Thyagaraju (violin), and Mullapudi Lakshmana Rao (mridangam).
The remaining 4 days will see felicitations, and classical performances by the artists from all over the state. The highlight of this mega event will be the vocal renditions of Lalitha and Haripriya, both from Hyderabad.
Surfing channels for classical music shows might be an option if you haven't heard of this event. But now that you have, it's time to bury that remote-control.
