Bringing the epics, Mahabharata and Ramayana, and history alive to the avid theater buffs has been symptomatic of Surabhi, since the last century - 120 years to be precise.
The Surabhi Theater Group, in association with the Directorate Of Culture, Govt. Of Andhra Pradesh, is bringing you this play, borrowed from the famous story of Ghatothkacha, Mayabazaar.
The theater performed its first play 'Keechaka Vadha' in Cuddapah, the place this group originated from. The actors, bearing the same names as in the epic, have been entertaining crowds all over the country, and have been mercilessly targeted with accolades for their flawless adaptation. Ganapati Rao as Ghatothkacha, Padmaja as Sri Krishna, and Vasantha Rao as the hard-boiled Hidimbi, are the ones set to captivate you.
