Seva Bharathi is organizing a marathon on January 22, at G M C Balayogi Athletic Stadum, to raise funds for supporting its Kishori Vikas program. The program is designed to educate and empower adolescent girl children in slums.
The organization is currently running 100 Kishori Vikas centers in and around Hyderabad. Each center provides education, skill development and other developmental activities to 25 girls in a slum for 2 hours every day.
The cost of running each Kishori Vikas center is Rs. 25,000 per year. The organization's goal is to expand the program to benefit 10,000 girls (400 centers) with the fundraiser's support.
