She obtained a master's degree in performing arts from the University of Hyderabad. Along with Jayaprada Ramamurthy, a renowned flautist, Ganesan runs an institution called Uttaraa Centre For Performing Arts in Hyderabad, where they impart flute and Bharatanatyam classes to their students.
Sri Rama Gana Sabha is one of the oldest cultural associations in the twin cities. It was established in 1949 by Carnatic singer Koniki Satyanarayana Rao. The association organises Sri Thyagaraja Aradhana Music Festival every year.
