REVIEW FOR ROCK CLIMBING FOR BEGINNERS...

The Great Hyderabad Adventure Club is organising a rock-climbing session for beginners at the picturesque Durgam Cheruvu on 30th January at 6:15 am. All the participants will be assembling at Durgam cheruvu main park entrance, near Ambedkar University.

Durgam Cheruvu (Secret Lake) is a small picnic spot behind Hyderabad's IT hub, the Hi Tech City. The place consists of a lake surrounded by rocks and hills of small sizes, which make the scenery photo-perfect. One can spend time in the garden, go boating, just sit around watching nature, try some mild rock-climbing/trekking, or get close-up view of ducks and birds.

The park has about 20-25 boulders at various difficulty levels. After a short orientation lecture in the beginning, one can start climbing as many easy rocks as possible before gradually moving to the higher difficulty levels.

Everyone should wear full track pants and t-shirts, sport shoes and a sun cap, and carry a water bottle. They can also get some fruits, juices, energy bars, or something to munch on after and during the trek. Those who are interested in taking snaps can also carry a camera.

Great Hyderabad Adventure Club is a non-profit club that has been established with an aim to provide everyone opportunities to get outdoors, try activities such as travel, trekking, hiking, camping, and adventure sports like rock climbing, rappelling, paragliding, skiing, white water rafting, and scuba diving. The mission of the club is to get close to nature and enjoy nature in an eco-friendly manner, experience local, regional and far-away trekking, hiking and outdoor activities, learn tips, tricks, techniques and first aid for safe and comfortable outdoor adventuring.
