Eristoff Wolf Night is presenting Reverend Sound System and Bay Beat Collective live on 16th December at Hard Rock Cafe, Hyderabad. Reverend Sound System was formed this year, and is on an all India tour promoting themselves.
Reverend Soundsystem or RSS is an English 'Indiestep' band that was formed in Sheffield in 2010. The band's vocalist Jon McClure had been playing under the Reverend Soundsystem pseudonym for some time, and he recruited his bandmate and wife Laura McClure to join him with Ocelot and Maticmouth.
Jon McClure has hosted a monthly clubnight on the first Saturday of every month named "Reverend Soundsystem" at The Plug in Sheffield, and has also hosted one event at Manchester's Po Na Na.
The Soundsystem has featured a number of guest DJs such as Mani (Stone Roses/Primal Scream), Peter Hook (New Order), the late Tony Wilson (Factory Records), Andy Nicholson (ex-Arctic Monkeys), Chris McClure (brother of Jon), Terry Hall (The Specials), Milburn, Bez and Arctic Monkeys, as well as live performances by The Sunshine Underground, Gas Club, Stoney, 747s, The Hosts and White Rose Movement.
The Mumbai-based Bay Beat Collective (BBC) was formed in response to the abundance of standard-issue electronica, so commonly heard in clubs and bars across the country.
A DJ collective currently consisting of Kris Correya (longtime resident DJ of Zenzi, Mumbai's most reputed club for experimental / underground music), Sohail Arora (DnB promoter & founder of KRUNK, the alternative booking agency) and Raffael Kably (sound engineer), BBC's passion lies in drum and bass, breaks, dubstep, glitch, funk and minimal sounds. Visual Jockey Dooj adds another dimension to their sound with his innovation within visuals. It was voted # 1 Drum N Bass / Dubstep DJ by MyFavDJ.in for 2009-2010.
BBC explores new aural territory, dabbling in styles ranging from breaks to drum and bass glitch, hop to dubstep, dark to funky and tech, with a partiality to "phat" basslines and high voltage grooves.
