A 7-day long film festival titled "Ray Ban Classic Movie Festival" is all set to bring back the nostalgia of the biggest of Hollywood classics ever, starting from 26th November through 2nd December. Films such as Ben-Hur, Ten Commandments, Al Pacino starrer Godfather, Blues Brothers, Breakfast at Tiffany's, The Italian Job, and Casablanca will be screened during the festival across PVR Cinemas in Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad, and Inox in Kolkata.
In Hyderabad, it is being held at the PVR Cinemas, Hyderabad Central.
"Casablanca" will be screened on 2nd December, the last day of the festival. Casablanca is a 1942 romantic movie directed by Michael Curtiz, and has Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, Paul Henreid, Claude Rains, Conrad Veidt and Sydney Greenstreet playing the central characters in the film.
Expatriate Rick Blaine, a cynical nightclub owner in Casablanca, discovers that his ex-lover Ilsa, who abandoned him years ago, has arrived in Casablanca with her Resistance leader husband, Victor. With the Germans on Victor's trail, Ilsa has come to the club to beg Rick for the precious letters of transit that have come into his possession. The documents would allow Victor to escape from Casablanca, and continue the fight against Fascism.
The festival will primarily be an invitee only affair for guests selected through contests and promotions, along with other select invitees. The invites will be distributed through contests conducted at the venues. All the patrons visiting these cinemas will get a contest form on the purchase of tickets, and winners will win themselves an invite to the film festival. Certain number of tickets will also be sold at the cinema counters. The proceeds of the ticket sales will go to the OneSight Foundation.
