The Department Of Computer Science Engineering, Mahatma Gandhi Institute Of Technology, is organising its annual technical festival Qubit '08, on 4th & 5th March, at the college campus in Gandipet. Technical events like paper presentations and poster presentations, and an online treasure hunt, among others, will bring out the talents of students from all over the state:
Papier Mache
A Paper Presentation Contest. Papers from all engineering branches are accepted, and the topic of the paper can be anything.
Poster Presentation
Posters can relate themselves to any topic.
Mock CAT
This event aims at supplanting the nervousness among students while taking interviews with total sangfroid. For those of you with dreams of making it big with an MBA, this is a must.
General Quiz
The ultimate event for the all the astute minds to show off their knowledge about everything from the local to the international affairs.
Code'em
A coding & debugging contest. As the name suggests, the participants' brains are put to test. They are given a host of programs which have to be cleansed of all possible bugs, and they are also to encode any kind of technical ideas in any programming language.
Cognoscenti's Speak
The highlight of Qubit, as stalwarts of the computer industry share their pearls of wisdom with the novice engineers. The Deputy General Manager of State Bank Of India, Hyderabad Division, will speak on the networking of the bank's branches.
Ca'tech'ization
Interested students are all mired in a morass of technical conundrums. The ultimate event for all the conceptually and technically adroit ones.
Hunt The Bug
This one of a kind treasure hunt needs no deciphering, running about or shovels. The mission of the participant is to ferret out the treasure hidden online, through the maze of Internet.
Technical Potpourrie
An amalgamation of technical events, with a cultural sting attached to them. The event involves three stages, namely Technical Dumb Charades, Technical Pictionary and Reverse Pictionary.
LAN Gaming
It's 51 hours of continuous non-stop gaming action. Starting at 6pm on 3rd March and finally culminating at 9pm on 5th March, it's gaming like never before. Games like FIFA 08, CS and NFS will feature here.
