Para Vayu, a rock band from Mumbai, will be performing live at the Hard Rock Cafe on the 20th of January. The members of the band are Ravi Iyer on the guitar, Crosby Fernandes on the bass, Soumitra Bhat on the vocals and Gopal on the drums.
Para Vayu, a new form that evolved from the rock band Vayu, was founded by Ravi Iyer. After the release of Vayu's album titled 'Wings Of A Dream' in June 2009, Ravi Iyer and bassist Crosby Fernandes reformed Vayu to Para Vayu, thus exploring a wide range in various genres of music.
Ravi Iyer has been actively involved in the rock circuit since 1985. Since then, strong influences in metal, classic rock, blues, pop, jazz rock and even Hindustani classical music initiated him to explore them in the music of Para Vayu.
Regular performances in the Mumbai / Pune club and college circuits have earned Para Vayu a loyal fan following. They have also performed with luminaries from local and international music scene including Gary Lawyer, Jules Fuller, Mattias 'IA' Eklund, Jonas Hellborg, and George Lynch.
