Kalasagaram is presenting a Carnatic vocal concert by Madurai R Sundar on 20th January at the Keyes Girls High School, Secunderabad.
Madurai R Sundar was born into a family where Carnatic music is part of every day life. Both his father and mother are veterans in Carnatic music. Sundar had his aunt Ananthalakshmi Sadagopan as his first guru. Ananthalakshmi taught him the initial musical lessons, and later, he refined his musical knowledge under the tutelage of T N Seshagopalan.
Sundar's distinct resonant voice has attracted fans and listeners all over the world. He is an A-graded artiste of the All India Radio. Along with his wife Padma, he runs a music school by the name of The Trinity Academy Of Fine Arts in Detroit, Michigan, USA.
Kalasagaram is a south-Indian cultural association situated in East Marredpally, and has been organising Carnatic music concerts for more than 40 years now. The concerts are usually held in the Keyes High School campus in the open-air theatre. Kalasagaram also stages south-Indian classical dances and Tamil plays.
