The Centre For It And The Networked Economy (CITNE) at the Indian School of Business (ISB) is hosting the Pacific-Asia Conference 2009. The conference will take place at Novotel, Hyderabad, from the 10th to the 12th of July, 2009.
The Pacific Asia Conference On Information Systems is sponsored by the Association for Information Systems (AIS), and is one of its three regional conferences. A premier information systems conference in the Pacific-Asia region, PACIS serves to provide a platform to researchers and practitioners in the field of information technology to share their research findings and practices. The theme of the conference this year is 'It Services In A Global Environment'.
As the information technology (IT) function evolves into an increasingly service-oriented and global model, this conference will explore the supply and the demand of IT services within and across organization and country boundaries. As organizations on the buyer side are increasingly sourcing IT services in offshore locations, vendors on the seller side are also reaching far outside their domestic markets. This leads to new and interesting governance, coordination, strategic alignment and vendor management issues. These, along with other issues germane to IT adoption and impact in emerging markets, will be discussed at the conference. As with all ISB conferences, industry leaders at the CXO level will be invited to engage with the academic community.
PACIS 2009 will be a 3-day conference comprising of zcademic paper presentation and poster sessions, panel discussions on topics of interest to industry and society, tutorials, a doctoral consortium, a study tour of a prominent IT company, and stalls with conference related exhibits. There are also post-conference excursions planned for attendees.
