Open Show Hyderabad: Events in Hyderabad

REVIEW FOR OPEN SHOW HYDERABAD

Open Show Hyderabad is a free monthly event that provides photographers, filmmakers and multimedia producers the chance to present their work in high-profile spaces.

Open Show Hyderabad Volume 9 will be conducted at Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad, Road No. 3, Banjara Hills, on 13 January, 6pm onwards.

The format for the show is as follows. Four curated presenters will have 15 minutes each to introduce one project. Both ongoing and completed work is accepted. Diverse topics ranging from documentary to fine art are welcome.

Entry to and participation in the event are free of cost.

Guidelines for still image submissions are as follows:

- You can submit upto 20 images on a single narrative topic or visual theme (note: this is NOT a portfolio review).

- The file format should be as follows :- full-frame image of 1500 pixels on the longest side (square images should be 1500x1500 pixels), 72 dpi and JPEG format.

- Text, watermarks, masking, or borders on images are not allowed.

- Upload the files via our online submission system.

Guidelines for film/multimedia submissions are as follows:

- Running time must be between 4-7 minutes.

- Audio should be complementary (ambient recording, interview, etc.). Anything not recorded by the presenter must be properly licensed.

- If your work is accepted, we will require a higher resolution MOV file.

- Send a link to your project via our online submission system.

- If your project is selected, we will need a Quicktime (.MOV) file at 1024x768 pixels exported using the H.264 Codec and a maximum of 250 MB. Soundslides files, Adobe Flash files or other formats will not be accepted.

Everything Else:

- You must be present at the Open Show for your work to be shown, so please keep your schedule free for the show date.

You will need to speak about yourself and your work. So, be prepared to elucidate on the following:

- A quick bio. Where do you come from/live? Current job?

- Background. How did you get into Photography?

- Project genesis. What sparked this story or visual theme?

- Your goals. What do you want to get out of tonight? Feedback on something particular?

- Next steps. What will you do with it? How do you plan to distribute?

- This is an interactive salon. Pause to give the audience a chance to ask questions or comment.

- Our event team creates all title slides, and no explanatory text slides are allowed.

- Open Show will notify artists the week of the show to announce who will be presenting.
