Sutradhar School Of Acting is presenting On Vacation, an English play, on 14th February, at the National Institute Of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Auditorium in Madhapur.
This 105-minute play has been translated by Umashashi Bhalerao, Mahrukh N Bharucha and Gayathri Natarajan, from Sachin Kundalkar's award-winning Marathi play Chotyashya Suttit, and is directed by Vinay Varma.
The play is set in the city of Mumbai in modern times, and is the story of 4 friends - Uttara, Kartik, Cyrus and Vyom. It deals with relationships - man-woman, man-man or between any two human beings. It also reflects upon how a live-in relationship is no different from any other human relationship.
In the play, each character slowly reveals itself in layers, reminding us of the many masks that we use everyday; sometimes to defend ourselves from others and sometimes to deceive them. And sometimes in the process, losing sight of who we really are. The play presents a slice of life - sour and spicy, and bitter and sweet; with all the other flavors interspersed in between.
