Are you one of those who feel like breaking into a jig everytime you hear the lusty strains of Jazz? Well, take up this invitation from the Goethe Zentrum and dance the night away to nuBox, a band of musical maestros from Germany who will play the most jiggable, twistable, boogie-able Jazz you have ever heard. Alois Kott on the double bass/elec., Reiner Winterschladen on the the trumpet, Peter Eisold on the percussion/elec. and DJ Illvibe on the turntable are here to set the dance-floor on fire.
nuBox was once Bluebox and its style is called Techno jazz, variously referred to as "No Wave Radio" or "Industrial dance". They had immense success in Berlin with their 1985 album "Sweet Machine". This also led them into neighbouring countries and even far-off lands such as Nepal, Singapore, and Philippines. Its third album "Captured Dancefloor" made it a cult by featuring the massive advances in Dancefloor Jazz.
After a break of 10 years, Bluebox is now back on the scene - under the new name nuBox, exploring sounds and technical possibilities of the electronics and remix-scene.
Passes are available at the dancefloor party head quarters - the Goethe-Zentrum office. The event starts at 1900 hrs in the front courtyard of Goethe Centrum today. Please contact 5552-6443, 2324-1791 for further details.
