Winning the Best Regional Movie award in 1975, Mutyala Muggu served as a beacon for future generation film-making.

Mutyala Muggu is the story of a woman banished into exile, after being wrongly accused of infidelity. It shows how a good man can be led astray by jealousy. Shridharam and his wife Seeta are living a content life. But before long Somu Raju sows the seed of suspicion in Shridharam's mind, and gets him separated from his wife. In time, Shridharam realises his mistake and tries to get his wife back.
