The Hyderabad Film Club is screening a Telugu film, 'Mee Sreyobhilashi' ('Your Well-Wisher') at Sarathi Studios on the 9th of March, at 6:30pm.
Produced under the banner of Visu Films and directed by V Eshwar Reddy, the film stars Rajendra Prasad, Naresh, Nazar,
Raghubabu, Brahmanandam, Krishna Bhagawan, Ravi Kondala Rao, Ali, Tanikella Bharani, Roopa Kaur, Meena and Radhakumari, among others.
'Mee Sreyobhilashi' deals with a retired professor, Rajaji, who aggregates 10 people who want to kill themselves, and gives them a plan of action to accomplish that, by putting them on a bus that will travel 200 km from Hyderabad and then go crashing down a mountain near Srisailam (the driver is one of those who want to kill themselves, too). His rationale for this rather complicated approach is that the suicides will then look like an accident, and save the families of the people from ignominy. The film then showcases some experiences that the people have on the journey, and how they are all finally persuaded to change their minds by the time they reach the point.
The film has been showcased at many international film festivals including the 39th International Film Festival of India, 2008 at Goa, the Asian Film Festival 2008 at Mumbai, and the 3rd Bangalooru International Film Festival in January this year. Its list of awards include the AP State Government
